Bernie

Bernie qualified in 1980, and worked for a number of pharmacies around New Zealand before coming to Gore. He became partner in Quins in 1985, and is now the sole proprietor. Bernie has a big involvement in education issues for the profession and is a member of the New Zealand College of pharmacists. He completed further studies at Otago University and gained a Masters degree in Pharmacy Practice, in areas of Clinical Pharmacy and Smoking Cessation. In 1997 he undertook further training in asthma and has run short courses in training Unichem Pharmacists to partake in health programs.
He is the current President of the Pharmaceutical Society of NZ. and has traveled overseas to represent his profession at a number of symposiums on CPC. The Pharmacy in Gore is a working model of many of the new pharmacy initiatives available.
Bernie has recently gained his accreditation in Sexual and Reproductive Health and is qualified to discuss emergency contraception without your need for a prescription.
